THE ARTS SOCIETY is a national arts education and conservation charity with over 360 Societies in the UK, Europe and Australasia with approximately 60,000 members worldwide.

The ‘core business’ of our Societies is an annual programme of monthly lectures which bring together interesting people and expert lecturers to share their love of the Arts – painting, sculpture, architecture, antiques, jewellery, music, garden history and a host of other subjects - to give a broad spectrum of arts education.

The Arts Society accredited lecturers are nationally at the top of their field and face fierce competition to be accepted by the Society as their representatives.

The 22 Societies in the South West Area are supported by an Area team which also provides Study Days and annual arts courses, one of which is held in Taunton each Spring.

People join The Arts Society (formerly NADFAS) for a variety of reasons; to further their interest in the decorative and fine arts, to increase their knowledge, or to take an active role in the promotion and preservation of our artistic heritage.

Joining a local society is a great way to learn more about the arts and offers an opportunity to make new and lasting friendships.  Details of how to join the Taunton Evening Arts Society  (TASTE) can be found on the Joining Us page.
